Dianne Jacob Releases New Book

Dianne Jacob just released the fourth edition of her popular book Will Write for Food.

With so many writers benefiting from Dianne's food-writing wisdom over the years, we were excited to find out more about this newly revised edition of Will Write for Food and hear Dianne's personalized advice for Eat Like a Writer readers.

For those who may not be familiar with your work, can you tell us a little about how you got started as a writer and how your career progressed?

I started out as a newspaper reporter and editor. Then became a magazine editor and book editor.

About halfway through my career I became self-employed.

I had spent my time working with writers up until then, so I decided to keep going and became a writing coach.

I also freelanced as a restaurant reviewer, columnist and recipe writer. I wrote two pizza cookbooks with chef Craig Priebe.

I continue to teach and speak about food writing.

What inspired you to write Will Write for Food?

After I became self employed, I taught food writing. I looked for a book on the subject for my students, but couldn’t find one.

Your book is packed with valuable, actionable advice for food writers. Now, you've released a revised and updated version. What changes will we see?
