Based in India, Nupur Jain has been writing since she was a child. "It comes as easily as eating food, perhaps, due to the fact that my mother cultivated reading and writing in me when I was very young," she says. "I started publishing when I was 22, and have been writing for print and the world wide web ever since."
Nupur says she loves writing fiction and branded content while aiming to be a contemporary storyteller. She uses the alias S.B. Vallari when writing for children. See one of her photo essays here, too.
Where do you turn for great food or food inspiration?
Do you travel for food?
Going out to discover local flavors and street cuisine with friends is as far as I would travel for food, unless it's Italian pizza (hope to make a visit someday).
Do you enjoy creating budget-friendly meals?
I mix rice with everything that I can find in the refrigerator and pressure cook it after treating the ingredients in some way so that the meal can be served hot with pickle, and taste different from the last meal.
Do you try to eat healthy?
I like greens in my meal. I also have a daily glass of buffalo milk because I like it a lot and it keeps me strong and healthy. Am getting aware of the origin and processes of milk products these days.
Do you have any kitchen products you love?
I love big cooking spoons, especially flat wooden ones.
Do you have any favorite restaurants?
When it's a special occasion, I love going to my local stuffed and fried snacks store to pick up hot snacks.
What do you eat when you're on deadline?
Noodles (Maggi in India)
